Collection: DMC

DMC embroidery floss is a 6 strand floss made form 100% cotton and is colorfast and fade resistant.  It comes in 8 meter skeins.  This is the most widely distributed floss for cross stich.

What do the dots on DMC labels mean?

  • A dot before the DMC number denotes a reformulation color.  This means the dye formula has been changed.  These changes are a result of environmental legislation in Europe which caused some dyes to no longer be available.  Most are very close to the original color but some can be different enough to cause a problem for a stitcher.
  • A dot after the DMC number acts as an internal manufacturing or routing code.

The dot should show in our photos if our stock is a box of reformulated skeins.
